A woman admitted to stabbing her twin sister to death during a drunken fight, but cannot even recall what the fight was about, she said in court.
On Thursday, Amanda Ramirez, 27, pleaded guilty to killing her sister, Anna Ramirez, at an apartment during a night of drinking in Camden, New Jersey in late June.
Ramirez took a plea deal with the Camden County Prosecutors Office that saw her charge downgraded from aggravated manslaughter to second-degree manslaughter, which will likely carry a lesser punishment.
Before the judge accepted her plea, Ramirezs lawyer questioned his client, asking: Now because of how much you drank, you dont remember what the fight was about, but you do remember fighting with her?
Ramirez softly replied: Yes.
Zeitz continued: And after that happened you put that knife on the ground and the other person you were with took it and went inside…and you stayed with your sister and waited until police arrived?
Yes, Ramirez replied, according to NJ.com.
At a previous court hearing, Assistant Prosecutor Peter Gallagher said that a witness told police she saw the twins fighting, then watched Amanda Ramirez go inside the apartment to get a knife, telling her sister, Watch what Im going to do.
The witness reportedly missed the stabbing as she ran down her stairs to intervene, but said she saw Anna Ramirez on the ground, soaked in blood, and heard her say, Amanda, you stabbed me!Read More – Source
