A woman let her mother die then lived with the corpse for three years as it decomposed in a nearby bedroom, police say.

Delissa Crayton, 47, was arrested on earlier this month in Seguin, Texas after authorities found the skeletal remains of her mother, Jacqueline Crayton.

Investigators said Jacqueline Crayton, who was 71-years-old, died after she fell in her bedroom in 2016 at the home where she lived with her daughter and 15-year-old granddaughter.

According to police, Delissa did nothing to assist her mother after the fall – and instead let her die after she spent days lying on the floor with a head injury, according to Loca l 10.

Investigators said the injuries sustained in the fall were not life-threatening.

In a post on Facebook, the Seguin Police Department wrote: From 2016 until July 7, 2019, approximately 3 years, Delissa Crayton resided in the residence with her daughter.

The two-bedroom residence included one room where the skeletal remains were located, and a second bedroom shared by Delissa Crayton and her daughter.
