Thomas Markle was disappointed he was not invited to his grandsons christening.
Mr Markle, speaking from Rosarito Beach, Mexico, where he lives, told The Mail on Sunday: I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened.
I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queens church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, so of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents health and happiness.
It was unlikely he would have got an invite after falling out with his daughter following her wedding to Prince Harry last year.
Retired Hollywood lighting director Mr Markle, who missed the nuptials after having two heart attacks, angered Meghan when he posed for paparazzi pictures.
The father and daughter have not spoken since, with Mr Markle claiming his Meghan will not speak to him despite him apologising.
He has yet to meet Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released two images following the ceremony at the Private Chapel.
A family photo inside the castles Green Drawing Room showed Harry and Meghan sitting with Archie, alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Standing behind them are the Prince of Wales, Meghans mother Doria Ragland, the Duke of Cambridge, Lady Jane and Lady Sarah.
A second shot, in black-and-white, shows Meghan, dressed in a white Dior dress, gazing into Harrys eyes as she cradles baby Archie – with the castles Rose Garden in the background.
