Two Boca Juniors players, Pablo Perez and Gonzalo Lamardo, were sent to hospital as a result of their team bus being attacked by River Plate fans before the Copa Libertadores final.
Bocas team bus came under fire as it made its way to El Monumental and several windows were smashed after fans threw objects at the vehicle.
According to TyC Sports, Perez was sent to a hospital via an ambulance after suffering cuts to his arm, while one of his eyes had splinters in it from the shattered window glass.
Perezs teammate Gonzalo Lamardo was also sent to hospital for treatment.
Police attempted to disperse the unruly River Plate fans but their decision to use tear gas backfired as it sprayed through the broken windows and hit the Boca Juniors players.

Carlos Tevez, Mauro Zarate, Sebastian Villa, Gonzalo Lamardo and Agustín Almendra were all severely affected by the tear gas.
As he made his way towards Bocas dressing room, television cameras caught Tevez retching, while his teammate Nahitan Nandez shouted they are all motherf*****s.
CONMEBOL decided to delay kick-off by an hour, despite several Boca players being in an unfit state to play the game.
