Arsenal assistant head coach Steve Bould has heaped praise on summer signing Lucas Torreira and says the Uruguayan is a joy to coach every day.
The 22-year-old arrived from Serie A side Sampdoria in a £26.5million deal over the summer and has quickly made a massive impression with his energetic and tenacious displays in the centre of midfield.
Torreiras partnership alongside Granit Xhaka has seen the much-maligned Swiss form improve dramatically, and Bould has been hugely impressed with his impact at Arsenal.
Asked if Torreira has helped Xhaka, Bould told Arsenals official website: Yeah. They look like they could be a good partnership, especially with Torreira.
Torreira looks like hes always played here. Hes just a great kid and nothing bothers him, hes always got a smile on his face every day.
He trains everyday as if he loves it and hes never a problem. He just looks a top player.
Asked if Torreira revels in doing the dirty side of the game, Bould continued: He does enjoy it, but hes much, much more than that.
Hes just one of those players that will do everything you ask, wont question it and you know that hell do it to the best of his ability.
Torreira has cemented his place in Uruguays starting XI with two excellent displays for his country during the international break, against Brazil and France respectively, and will report back to training with Arsenal on Thursday.
