A father was jailed for hurling his eight week-old daughter down onto a hard chair after becoming upset with her for crying.

Dalton Milne, 23, reportedly hurled his young daughter across a room and onto a chair, according to social worker Sharon Olivia, who spoke as Milne was jailed for seven years.

Milne was arrested at his home in Kingman, Arizona, last November.

He is said to have Googled shaken baby syndrome on his phone after attacking the infant, but failed to seek medical assistance for her until others noticed she was unwell.

Oliva told Milnes sentencing hearing last Friday that the youngster was also covered in bruises of various ages.

She added that the youngster had a bite mark on her jaw, and that she did indeed suffer from hemorrhages and seizures consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

According to the Mohave Valley Daily News, She added: This baby was powerless to protect herself.

We need to send that message that child abuse is wrong.

Milne blamed the horrific violence on a momentary loss of composure, and told the court: Im sorry this happened. I kind of lost control.
