Jurgen Klopp believes that the Anfield crowd got Liverpool over the line as they pinched a late 2-1 win against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
A 90th minute own goal from Toby Alderweireld handed the Reds the three points and took them back to the top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool had taken the lead through Roberto Firmino in the first half but were largely outplayed in the second spell and looked to be in danger of losing the match after Lucas Moura had equalised.
However, they grabbed the late winner and Klopp thanked the supporters for providing an incredible atmosphere on Merseyside.
We were all together with the crowd, Klopp told Sky Sports. The crowd was outstanding, an incredible atmosphere, they were here to push us and in the end it helped.
It was put to the German that the fans did not seem to get nervous and instead pushed the team forward with the score level at 1-1, and Klopp agreed.
Thats a big change, a big improvement, its all good, its only positive, Klopp stated.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino tried to take the positives of the second half performance out of the game, despite the heart-breaking defeat.
It is very tough to lose the game in that way but I feel I am happy because the emotion and feeling we have got today will help us, the Argentine told Sky Sports.
