Adam Lallana missed Liverpools FA Cup game against Wolves due to injury.
Liverpool fans were surprised to see Lallana missing from the matchday squad, with the midfielder not even making the bench for the FA Cup third round clash.
Jurgen Klopp had talked up Lallanas involvement during the week as the 30-year-old has struggled to break in Liverpools team this season.
Lallana has struggled with injuries in the last year and has now picked up a minor knock that forced him to pull out of the squad to face Wolves.
Klopp explained Lallanas issue and confirmed why captain Jordan Henderson and centre-back Virgil van Dijk were also absent from the squad.
He said: I had to make these changes. A few players were really ill and then in the last session yesterday we lost Adam Lallana with a minor thing, but its enough not [to be able] to play – and Hendo (Henderson) had something from the Man City game.

We had to make a few changes already, it was clear. Virg (Van Dijk) cannot play; he is at home and hopefully it is nothing, but he has played all the games so far, so we had to try to find a solution for that – and we found it, hopefully, with Fabinho.
For all the rest, a few guys I want to see and we are able to do that, but of course we have to be sensitive with our situation.
We came through a very intense period quite OK. The next intense period is waiting.
I know people want to win every game and see the same players week in, week out, but somebody has to make the decisions and in that case, I am the man for [doing] that.
With several senior stars missing the game, Klopp handed youth stars Rafael Camacho and Curtis Jones their first full debuts.
