BBC News viewers were left confused after a child appeared out of nowhere during a TV interview about Theresa Mays leadership.

As the broadcaster quizzed a woman on the street ahead of the prime ministers confidence vote yesterday, a little boy appears to teleport into the background.

The clip was posted on Twitter and many wondered; what in the sweet holy Jesus happened there?

Whats going on?!

One replied to the tweet saying WTF… does anyone else see the child teleport? and said: Just glitch in the Matrix.

Durry Bloom then said: I am confident (and afraid) we were *not* meant to see that.

A third said: Confirmed: Wizards are real, while one just asked: Can someone please explain this?

And luckily Metro.co.uks video desk has the answer; its simply a way of editing videos called morph cut.

The child appears out of thin air (Picture: BBC)

Video Producer Paul Hardcastle explained: Its when you want to blend two shots of basically the same thing, but without there being a really obvious jump.

Of course this is not perfect with that BBC clip because the camera moves around as people cant stand perfectly still, and because the background changes you get weird pop-in stuff like the child magically appearing and the people in the glass window vanish.

You can also see the woman being intervieweds glasses shift to the right as the software tries to make the two clips into one.
